• 1. Why won't my Apple TV recognize the converted file?

  Here are the method you can follow to solve this problem.

  1. Launch the program.

  2. After loading the file into the program, go to Apple Devices and choose Apple TV.

  3. Click the Settings button, in the pop-up window, please set Resolution as 720*480 and set Channel as 2 Channels stereo.

  Note: If you still cannot solve your problem, please rewrap the converted file. Launch iTunes, go to the top menu, and choose Advanced > Create an iPad or Apple TV version.

• 2. How to adjust the volume of the output file?

  Here are the steps you can follow.

  1. Launch the program.

  2. Click Edit > Effect on the top menu bar.

  3. Adjust the audio higher or lower in Volume panel.

  If you are using the home-made DVDs, you had better copy the files to your local hard drive first, and then use the video conversion tool to convert single VOB file.

  Note: Home-made DVDs and commercial DVDs are different in their structure, since home-made DVDs do not include standard DVD movie structure which causes the software fails to load them.

• 4. How to speed up conversion for DVD Ripper for Mac?

  After loading a file to the software, you can select output formats instead of a format in HD Movie list since it usually takes longer time. You can gear up conversion speed by clicking Settings button to make Bit Rate and Resolution lower.
  

  

  Note: External environment and the capability of your DVD drive are two important factors that greatly affect the conversion speed.

  If many other programs are running at the same time and the CPU resource is occupied too much, it will also affect conversion speed.

  If the capability of your DVD drive reading DVD disc doe not work well, the conversion speed will also be influenced to some extent.

• 5. Why do I keep getting"it quits unexpectedly." when launching?

  This problem may be caused by the improper installation of the software. Here are some tips to fix it:

  1. Please make sure the program has been installed correctly: after expanding the DMG file, drag the icon to Applications folder or desktop to complete the installation.

  2. Make sure your Shared folder has Read& Write privilege. You can click Finder > your system drive under DEVICES category > Users > Shared and then right-click the Shared folder and select Get Info. After that, you'll see a yellow lock icon in the bottom. Click it to unlock (need account password), and then please give Privilege to all items under Sharing & Permissions.

• 6. What can I do if all the output videos play fast on Mac?

  If all the output videos play fast on Mac, here are the steps to solve the problem.

  1. Click Apple icon-> System Preferences.

  2. Choose Sound and select Internal Speakers in Output.

  3. Convert other files to have a try.

  If this could not help, please provide the detailed information for further investigation. You need to transfer your original file via wetransfer to us (https://wetransfer.com) if the original file is video and the size is within 2GB. However, you need to tell us the DVD information including title, region code, purchasing link from Amazon, etc if the original file is DVD.

• 7. What's the difference between D5 and D9 DVDs?

  The main difference between D9 and D5 lies in their capacities. D9 refers to DVD ± R DL discs, which is single sided double layer disc with a maximum capacity of 8.5GB. While D5 is a single sided single layer, whose maximum capacity is 4.7 GB.

  D9 can hold about 8,540,000,000 bytes and that is 7.95 computer GB. But D5 holds less than D9, which is around 4,700,000,000 bytes and that is 4.37 computer GB.

  For checking a DVD disc capacity, you can firstly insert the disc into your Mac, then press Ctrl key and left-click your mouse at the same time, select Get Info option, you will the information you needed. The capacity less than 4.7 GB is considered as D5 disc while more than 4.7GB and less than 8.5GB is D9 disc.

• 8. What is an IFO file?

  IFO (stands for InFOrmation) is a type of DVD file that stores information about chapters, subtitles and audio tracks.

  A DVD Disc contains two sub-directories: AUDIO_TS (audio title set) and VIDEO_TS (video title set).

  As one of the three types of files (VOB, IFO, and BUP) a standard VIDEO_TS file should contain, IFO file can provide important navigational information, such as where a video chapter begins, and where audio and subtitle streams exist within the movie (VOB) file. IFO files are not encrypted.

  How to convert an IFO file by DVD ripper tools?

  Double-click IFO file, you will find VIDEO_TS folder there. You can drag the VIDEO_TS folder to the software directly.

• 9. Why is there a subtitle even if I have chosen "None" or "No subtitle"?

  First you need to get the meaning of the three kinds of subtitles: built-in, external and fake subtitles.

  For Built-in subtitles, they are a part of DVD and separated from video files, and what you can choose and set in the program are built-in subtitles.

  For External subtitles, they are not included in DVD, and generally exist independently as SRT files.

  For fake subtitles, they are actually not subtitles, but a part of video files. They are the same as image components in videos and couldn't be removed unless you crop the portion where they display.

  Therefore, if you choose None or No subtitle, fake subtitles couldn’t be removed and there is still text in the video.

• 10. What is an ISO file?

  An ISO file, often called an ISO image is an archive file (also known as a disc image) of an optical disc, composed of the contents of every written sector of an optical disc. Its file entension is .iso. You will get Video_TS folder and Audio_TS folder as you open the ISO file.

  ISO burning is the most important feature of an ISO image, which now is typically a native feature of modern home and business computer operating systems. An ISO image can be easily rendered or burned to a DVD or CD by using media authoring or disc burning software.

• 11. What's the difference between DVD+R and DVD-R?

  The main difference for DVD+R and DVD-R lies in the function.

  DVD+ R disc is mainly used to store data, while DVD-R disc is mainly used for the multimedia entertainment, and it will be better compatible with the DVD player

• 12. How to add artworks or change cover of the converted file?

  You can simply get your job done in iTunes.

  First, add your videos to iTunes, right click it and select Get Info, then in Art Work panel, click Add to change your video cover.

• 13. How to sync the converted files to my Apple device?

  Here are the steps you can follow.

  1. Launch the program.

  2. Choose Program Name > Preferences… from the top menu.

  3. Check Add files to iTunes Library after conversion in Convert tab.

  4. Transfer the converted video to Apple device through iTunes.

• 14. What are the limitations of the trial version for video/DVD converting products?

  The trial and registered versions of Video Converter are functionally the same product. The limitations of the trial versions are as below:

  1. There is a watermark (namely Logo) added to the output video file;
  2. There is 3 min time limit for the output audio file.

  After purchasing, you will receive a registration code. Once you register the product, you can immediately get the full version without such limitation.
  Note: The video files converted with the trial version will still have watermark remaining on them. Registering the program can't remove the previous watermark. You need to convert them again.
